10/7/2025, Lawirwodi David Onen Acana II flagged off secondary school students who are representing Acholi Team of Athletes heading to Tororo district for the 3rd Zonal Athletic competition 2025.
Mr. Ojuku Richard Brian, the Chair Uganda Secondary School Sports Association told Lawirwodi that Acholi team is two time champions, they won the 1st Edition from Kabale - 2022 and 2nd Edition 2023. He assured Lawirwodi that the team is well prepared and they are sure to retain their position again.
Lawirwodi David Onen Acana II thanked the team leader for this gesture of bringing the students to Ker Kwaro Acholi to receive the blessings. He emphasized sports is a very good profession that's paying off many people who have taken sports as a career. He told the athletes that with hard work, determination and discipline, they will win this 3rd Edition too. He said some international sports personalities are getting a lot of money from companies who hire them as their products brands, something if these Athletes work hard they will achieve as well.
Lawirwodi supported the team with cash of Ugx.3,000,000 that was handed over by the Deputy PM Ker Kwaro Acholi Mr. Okumu Martin.
